Who is eligible to participate?

Participants must be entering the 8th grade in the 2025-2026 school year or proceeding to be eligible to apply for CelloFest. However, we may accept younger musicians with an exceptional teacher recommendation.

What if I am traveling from far away?

There are plenty of hotel and lodging facilities around the university campus. Some of these options include the Fullerton Marriot, DoubleTree by Hilton Fullerton, and SpringHill Suites Anaheim.

What performance level is expected at CelloFest?

We recommend students with the Certificate of Merit level 7 or equivalent. This typically consists of students playing at least the Suzuki Book 6 or 7 repertoire difficulty.

What will the typical day-to-day itinerary be like?

The daily schedule will generally consist of private lessons, rehearsal, lunch, and masterclasses!

What kind of performance opportunities will be offered?

Participants will get to perform in both ensemble and solo settings in our recital concert!
